In March 1936, the greatest flood in over 300 years roared down the Connecticut River. A hard winter followed by exceptionally early, warm spring weather unleashed an armada of icebergs that destroyed everything in its path. A huge ice jam, the like so which has not been seen in The Connecticut River Valley since the last Ice Age, dammed the river. When the dam finally burst, the roar was heard for miles. The makers of Under Quabbin take you on a wild ride as the Connecticut River overflows its banks, inundating towns, destroying homes and bridges, and leaving thousands of people homeless. In this Emmy nominated video, Ed Klekowski narrates a priceless record featuring actual film footage of the great flood and interviews with people who were there.
